Leslie Orr, M.A., The Courseware Connection
Leslie Orr is a performance management professional with direct experience in leading edge training, performance management systems, and curriculum development. Her experience includes work in manufacturing, insurance, engineering, and sales with domestic and international students in business and academia. She is currently the principal consultant for the Courseware Connection, Phoenix, Arizona. Leslie’s experience includes work in competency profiling, process mapping and task analysis, procedural development, online and classroom training with systematic instructional design methods from needs analysis to evaluation. Her competency profiling technique won a Motorola 10X cycle time reduction award because the profile could be completed in 40 person hours. She has developed numerous courses in various fields from simple computer application instruction and complex telephone switch installation guides to communication, diversity, crisis management, basic management skills, and complex human communication skills for team and project management. She also teaches a simplified instructional design approach for use with subject matter experts. She developed curriculum for numerous job levels based on performance outputs, and served as a regional curriculum consultant for Motorola University, creating curriculum for a worldwide workforce at all levels. She has developed delivery systems including full scale simulations, classroom delivery, CD ROM courses, and online web delivery. Leslie has developed performance evaluation systems, including simple and effective evaluation forms and tracking tools. She has worked with a consulting team evaluating training for a large pharmaceutical firm to mitigate FDA compliance violations. Leslie serves as an internal ISO 9000 auditor for the State of Arizona. Her clients include Motorola, Scottsdale Insurance Company, the State of Arizona, Avnet, American Express, Holsum Bakeries, America West Airlines, Systema, KP Systems, Pulte Homes, ACSS, Six Sigma Qualtec, BioReg, Thomson NETg, and the University of Phoenix.
