John F. Fox, M.S.
John Fox received his M.S. degree from the State University of New York, Oswego and has 25 years experience in a research and development organization. Most recently John held the position of Chief of Staff for the Health, Safety and Radiation Protection (HSR) Division at the Los Alamos National Laboratory where he had extensive experience in the implementation of Integrated Safety Management, and performance measurement in environment, safety, and health. John previously served as the Laboratory Training Manager for ten years, managing all Lab-wide employee and organization development programs and the Los Alamos Center for Graduate Studies, operated in conjunction with the University of New Mexico (UNM). He was instrumental in the development of a joint microwave network system for graduate education in the State of New Mexico, and supported the development of the National Technological University satellite delivery system. John had over twelve years’ experience in public education as a teacher and administrator, has served a six-year term on the Los Alamos Schools’ Board of Education, and a term on the Branch College Advisory Board of Directors for the University of New Mexico, Los Alamos Campus. While teaching, John developed the first two UNM College of Engineering, Associate Degree programs in engineering technology. He also worked with the Sun Oil Company, American Locomotive Corporation, and the Allegheny-Ludlum Steel Corporation. Other professional activities and certifications include the American Society for Safety Engineers - Certified Safety Manager, Certified Lead Auditor - MAC Technical Services, Graduate Instructor - Dale Carnegie, Inc., Certified Instructor, Development Dimensions International, and Senior Examiner for the Energy Quality Award, US Department of Energy. John served four years on the Review Board for the Human Resource Development Quarterly and his most recent publication is a chapter (Performance Appraisal) of The Guidebook for Performance Improvement: Working With Individuals in Organizations, edited by Roger Kaufman, Sivasailam Thiagarajan, and Paula MacGillis, published by Pfeiffer and Company/Jossey-Bass, Inc.
